Site Manager - Utilities (Shaft Sinking / AMP8)\n\nLocation: North West (United Utilities Framework)\n Salary: Competitive + Package (DOE)\n Job Type: Full-time, Permanent\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of AMP8 projects across the United Utilities framework. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in shaft sinking, deep excavations, and complex civil engineering works within the water sector.\n\nYou will play a critical role in ensuring successful project delivery, maintaining compliance with United Utilities standards, and driving high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency on site.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead site operations on shaft sinking and associated civil engineering works as part of AMP8 delivery\nEnsure compliance with United Utilities standards, specifications, and processes\nManage and coordinate subcontractors, site teams, and supply chain partners\nDeliver works safely, on programme, and within budget\nDrive a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across all site activities\nOversee temporary works, including shaft support systems, linings, and dewatering\nMonitor project progress and provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders\nEnsure all documentation (RAMS, permits, site records) is accurate and up to dateEssential Requirements\n\nProven experience as a Site Manager in the water/utilities sector\nDemonstrable experience working on United Utilities AMP frameworks (preferably AMP7/AMP8)\nStrong background in shaft sinking, tunnelling, or deep excavation works\nSMSTS certification\nValid CSCS card (Black/Gold preferred)\nFirst Aid at Work\nStrong understanding of CDM regulations and HSE compliance\nExcellent leadership and problem-solving skillsDesirable Skills & Experience\n\nTemporary Works Coordinator (TWC)\nConfined Space Training\nNEC contract experience\nExperience working on major infrastructure upgrades or wastewater assets\nCivil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)What We Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\nOpportunity to be part of critical AMP8 infrastructure delivery\nLong-term career progression within a secure framework environment\nCollaborative and forward-thinking team culture\n\nPlease apply with your most up to date CV or call Andy at search on (phone number removed)\n\nSearch is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
