Highways Site Supervisor

Your new companyYou will be joining a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering essential highway maintenance and infrastructure services on behalf of a local authority in Norfolk. The organisation has a strong focus on safety, quality and collaboration, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects within the highways sector.Your new roleReporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee the safe and efficient delivery of highway maintenance and civil engineering schemes on live public highways.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising day-to-day site activities to ensure work is delivered safely, on time and to specification
• Managing and coordinating subcontractors, operatives and suppliers on site
• Ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
• Carrying out site inductions, pre-start checks and toolbox talks
• Implementing and monitoring risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
• Issuing permits for activities such as excavations and hot works
• Monitoring progress against programme and reporting any delays or risks
• Maintaining accurate site records including labour, materials and plant
• Inspecting work to ensure quality standards are met in line with project specifications
• Supporting the preparation of handover documentation and completion records

What you'll need to succeed

• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
• NRSWA Supervisor accreditation
• 12D Traffic Management (Lantra)
• Temporary Works Supervisor Certification
• First Aid qualification
• Full UK driving licence
• Proven experience in a Site Supervisor role within highways or civil engineering
