Corporate M&A Associate Solicitor

Job Description

W&P Partners is currently working with a leading international law firm is seeking a Corporate / M&A Associate to join its London team.


The role sits within a highly regarded M&A practice advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions for a broad client base, including listed companies, multinational corporates and financial sponsors.


The successful candidate will advise on a mix of public and private M&A matters, working as part of collaborative deal teams on high-value transactions across a range of sectors.


The Role

The successful candidate will join a busy and sophisticated M&A practice advising on public and private M&A transactions, both domestic and cross-border. The team acts for a diverse client base including UK listed companies, multinational corporates and financial sponsors across sectors such as technology, consumer, financial services, fintech, life sciences, natural resources, media and industrials.


The role will involve:

  • Advising on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions;
  • Assisting with the management and execution of transactions from inception through to completion;
  • Drafting and reviewing transaction documentation;
  • Coordinating and reviewing legal due diligence;
  • Providing technical corporate law support on complex transactional matters;
  • Working directly with partners, senior lawyers and clients; and
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior team members where appropriate.


Associates are given meaningful responsibility and exposure to high-value matters, working as part of collaborative deal teams on market-leading transactions.


Experience

  • 2–4 years’ UK post-qualification experience
  • Strong corporate M&A experience from a reputable or top-tier law firm;
  • Exposure to complex, high-value and/or cross-border transactions;
  • An interest in developing across both public and private M
  • Strong drafting, analytical and organisational skills;
  • Excellent academics and technical ability;
  • the confidence to work with sophisticated clients in a fast-paced environment.
