Business Administrator
HR Specialist

Everyone wants to belong to something. A football team, a family, a close-knit group of friends. The sense of belonging you find in the Army is next level. When you’ve trained together, side by side, learned things no classroom can teach you. When you’ve lived together and worked together, it creates a bond like no other. A bond that lasts a lifetime, and sees you through whatever life throws at you.

Just like every big organisation, the Army needs people with financial, administrative, IT and secretarial skills, wherever it is in the world. Join us as a full-time Business Administrator and we’ll train you to be one of them. Acting as a PA to a senior officer or working on a multi-million pound project as part of the management accounts team, you’ll enjoy a rewarding job with plenty of responsibility. It’s a great chance to hone your skills, you could work in Embassies around the world and you will earn valuable civilian recognised qualifications. You’ll do all this whilst getting to travel the world, making life-long friends along the way.

Sign on for four years and we’ll give you a joining bonus of £4,000 when you complete phase two of training.

You could be working for the Infantry, Engineers, Signals or Medics, so there’s plenty of scope for variety and excitement. You’ll travel the world on operations and exercises, going wherever your unit goes and experiencing the traditions and culture of the regiments you serve with. Become an expert administrator and you’ll be an integral part of your unit.

You’ll start with basic training where you’ll learn soldiering skills, like how to survive outdoors and how to fire weapons. Not only this, you’ll develop your fitness, mental toughness and leadership ability. After that it’s on to 15 weeks’ specialist training at Worthy Down, Winchester, where you’ll learn about military administration, personnel management and finance, secretarial, clerical and office duties. You’ll also be trained to operate the Army's information systems and taught to drive.

Remember, if you’ve signed on for four years, we’ll give you a joining bonus of £4,000 when you complete phase two of training.

The Army will pay for you to gain valuable qualifications, such as:
• Chartered Institute of Personal Development (CIPD) Accreditation
• Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Accreditation
• BSc (Hons) HR Management
• L5 BTEC Certificate in Management
• L3 Business Administration Apprenticeship
• L3 Diploma for Military Personnel Administrators
• Category B Driving Licence

We'll be behind you every step of the way as you move up the ranks. Right from the start of your training, you’ll get the support and encouragement you need to make a success of your career. Work hard and you could get promoted, which will mean more responsibility and extra pay. And along the way, you'll pick up qualifications that are recognised by civilian employers.

You should be:
• Regular Army age: 16.6 - 32.11 years
• Army Reserve age: 17.9 - 49.11 years

Qualifications you’ll need:
• GCSE grade D or above in English Language and Maths
• A vocational qualification, like an NVQ in Business Administration

Interests you’ll have:
• Helping people
• Office work
• Technology
• Decision making and responsibility
• Sport and adventure

Our next deadline for application is the 31st of March 2017, with further opportunities ongoing throughout the year.
